INTERVIEW: JACK BLADES OF NIGHT RANGER

Jack Blades got his start in 1978 with the release of a not so well remembered band’s debut Rubicon. A few years later the 80′s hit and he was a new band called Night Ranger and soon he was an international rock star. After Night Ranger split he formed a supergroup with Styx’s Tommy Shaw and the always out spoken but kick ass rock and roller Ted Nugent called Damn Yankees. After two records with Damn Yankees they called it a day and Jack started doing some solo work as well as a project called “Influence” with Tommy Shaw. Night Ranger has been together for a few years now and even released a new record last year. On top of that Jack has released a new solo album called “Rock n’ Roll Ride.”

Jack talks about all his projects, the lost art of…well art, he has a great story regarding Motley Crue and some girl who took their photos. His bands may not have been the heaviest but between bossing around Uncle Ted, getting drunk on the strip with the Crue, and just enjoying the finer things in life like girls and booze, Jack Blades has the metal stamp of approval from me. Enjoy our conversation.
