THIS WEEKEND INSIDE HANGAR 19 ADRIAN SMITH IS HERE

For the second time in a month a member of Iron Maiden is stepping inside Hangar 19. Adrian Smith (guitarist) joined Maiden in 1980, left in 1990 and rejoined when Bruce Dickinson went back to the band in 1999. His work with the world’s most known and respected metal band speaks for itself, but Adrian has put together a side project with Mikey Goodman from the band Sikth called Primal Rock Rebellion. Adrian will talk some Maiden and give us the complete low down on Primal Rock Rebellion.

For this week’s heavy metal movie and soundtrack recommendation we take a look at one of the greatest animated films of all time, one where Rob Zombie got his start into movie making, one that features maybe the most incredible comedic duo in history. It’s Beavis and Butt-head Do America. How great is this movie? Here’s Siskel & Ebert’s review.

This week’s Power Set is a live Megadeth set featuring four live songs from The Countdown To Extinction Twentieth Anniversary special edition that just hit stores. The live disc that comes with this special edition was recorded in 1992 from The Cow Palace in San Francisco.

This week’s Then and Now is from Kiss. We’ll play something old and something new from the just released Monster album.

Then we’re going In The Vault with Trent Reznor from Nine Inch Nails. In this clip from ’94 he dicusses why he formed Nine Inch Nails even though he wrote and recorded all the music himself, touring, and much more.

It’s 3 hours of classic metal once again inside Hangar 19.

IRON MAIDEN’S ADRIAN SMITH OFFERS UPDATE ON POSSIBLE NEW ALBUM

With Iron Maiden preparing to hit the road this summer for yet another North American run, guitarist Adrian Smith was asked recently if a new album might come along anytime soon.

Having recently released the En Vivo! concert film chronicling the band’s previous trek in support of their 2010 release The Final Frontier, it seems natural that there might possibly be a follow-up beginning to brew. But Smith tells The Aquarian “We haven’t got any plans at the moment but more than likely we’ll be doing something.”

This summer’s tour will recall the band’s 1988 7th Tour Of A 7th Tour and Smith says that it was a good opportunity to revisit some old favorites, including the Seventh Son of a Seventh Son title track.

“Well, we just thought it’d be fun to revisit that period in time—there were some good songs there. It’s just great revisiting some of the songs we haven’t played for a long while. It keeps us fresh and it’s just, you know, we got a lot of new fans coming on board now, a lot of younger fans who probably never saw or were around when we did that tour. That’s one factor of it for us revisiting that time and I think there’s some good songs from that period, so it’s fun to do.”
