This weekend inside the Hangar our friend and correspondent Thom Hazaert sat down with Lonn Friend. Lonn was the editor of Rip Magazine from July 1987 to June 1994. During that time he and the magazine helped spread the word of metal and hard rock to fans everywhere, including me. Lonn also wrote for Hustler, was a regular on Headbanger’s Ball, wrote liner notes for Motley Crue, Bon Jovi, Iron Maiden, Dio and others, plus wrote 2 books ‘Life on Planet Rock’ and ‘Sweet Demotion.’ Lon has a lot of great stories about the musicians and the magazine.
