Once upon a time, people went to these places called record stores to buy these things called compact discs or “CD” for short.
When something really cool (and even some things that sucked) was coming out, the record stores would do these events called “midnight sales” where you, Joe Consumer, could go at midnight (woo! stay up late and be rebellious) to buy the new album and sometimes, you went home with something free like a limited edition t-shirt or if they were cheap, a commemorative bumper sticker.
Occasionally, there were no freebies -just the experience of waiting in line with your similarly crazy friends to buy that awesome new album (God, I hope it doesn’t suck – we’ve been here for hours).
Luckily for you, someone took their video camera – which would have been gigantic back then – to document one such experience.
