PART 1 OF OF OUR PANTERA SPECIAL FEATURES REX BROWN

rex brownYou know Rex as the bassist for the legendary metal band Pantera and has just put out a book called Official Truth, 101 Proof: The Inside Story of Pantera. Rex joins us this week to discuss his younger days, the book, his new band Kill Devil Hill and if a reconciliation between the three remaining members of Pantera can ever happen. Of course we’ll be throwing down a bunch of Pantera tunes as well.

The metal doesn’t stop there, this week we go In the Vault with Sepultura. Then singer Max Cavalera and guitarist Andreas Kisser in 1991 while on tour for Arise talking about their roots coming up in Brazil.

abachnow1This week’s Power Set comes from the former Skid Row front-man Sebastian Bach. He just put a live set called “ABachalypse Now.” It’s 2 discs and a DVD spanning two different shows. This Power Set will feature 4 songs taken from his 2012 Hellfest Performance.

disarm the descentOur Then & Now comes from Killswitch Engage. As we get set for the New Wave of American Heavy Metal band to release their first album with original singer Jesse Leach in over a decade.

Then this week’s soundtrack recommendation is for the new Fox television show The Following. A psychodrama starring Kevin Bacon that has done a good job of incorporating a ton of metal into the music of the show.

Join us for 3 more hours of classic metal this weekend inside Hangar 19.

PS…Next week’s Pantera special part 2 features Vinnie Paul

HANGAR 19 BACKSTAGE: SEBASTIAN BACH

INTERVIEW: SEBASTIAN BACH

Is there anything that brings fans of heavy metal and hard rock more joy than summer concert season? All the big shows start getting announced, the festivals, the tour packages and we rejoice and then start planning out our summer accordingly. I thought the Cinderella / Sebastian Bach tour flew under the radar a bit, and understandably so. When other 80′s rock and metal acts who are on tour, such as Motley Crue and Kiss, and the Def Leppard / Poison/ Lita Ford tour, this little package maybe didn’t mean much to other people. I personally was st0ked that Bach and Cinderella would be on the road together. I’d much rather see either band than Poison, and the Motley Crue / Kiss tour was a  little pricy. So on a hot August night at a Casino ballroom not to far from my house, myself and a couple of friends went and saw Cinderella and Sebastian Bach. Of course I weaseled my way backstage to talk to Bach. Here is the audio version of that conversation.

WHAT’S HAPPENING THIS WEEKEND INSIDE HANGAR 19

Quick! Who’s the most metal of the 80′s hair metal bands?

I’ll accept Motley Crue but the answer I was looking for is Skid Row.

I welcome inside Hangar19 this weekend the one and only Sebastian Bach! In honor you will hear a bunch of Skid Row tunes and some of his more recent solo work..

Meanwhile we’ll get a Power Set of live Pantera songs on, go In the Vault with Randy Rhoads, check out some more new music from Testament on a Then and Now, and with the release of this years Madden ’13 Video Game, we try to figure out which of the games 20+ years was the  most metal year for the always fun Madden soundtrack.

I’m Cutter and I want to urge you to step inside Hangar 19
