INTERVIEW: SNAKE SABO OF SKID ROW

Snake1Snake Sabo’s career begins in 1986 when he and bassist Rachel Bolan started a little band from New Jersey called Skid Row. A few years later they had sold millions of records and were true rock stars. Their second album Slave to the Grind won over metal heads world wide including, as you’ll hear Snake explain, the members of Slayer. After that album though metal went on life support and their sub-par record Subhuman Race didn’t help. Before the decade was over the band had split with singer Sebastian Bach. In 1999 they re-grouped with current singer Johnny Solinger. They may not be as big as they once were but they are and always will be Skid Row.

SNAKE SABO OF SKID ROW GETS INSIDE THE HANGAR

snakeoldSnake Sabo along with Rachel Bolan started Skid Row in 1986, then went on to sell millions of records with former lead singer Sebastian Bach. After Bach left the band re-formed in 1999 with current singer Johnny Solinger they haven’t looked back. Now with a new E.P. out United World Rebellion they are proving they are still in fact the Skid Row that everyone loves and remembers.

Then we are going to go In the Vault with the all female New Wave of British Heavy Metal Band Girlschool

Exodus_bandThis week’s Power Set is from Exodus. The story goes that Exodus guitarist Gary Holt was supposed to join us, but with Jeff Hanneman of Slayer passing away and since Gary had been filling in for him in Slayer we thought it would be better for Gary to join us at a later date. Least we can do is pay tribute to his own band and get on four songs from Exodus.

Megadeth-Super-ColliderMegadeth are getting set to release their 14th studio album entitled SuperCollider We have the title track and lay down a Then & Now.

Plus this week’s Heavy Metal Soundtrack recommendation comes from the early 90′s MTV animated TV show Beavis & Butthead.

3 hours of classic metal this and every weekend inside Hangar 19.

HANGAR 19 BACKSTAGE: SEBASTIAN BACH

INTERVIEW: SEBASTIAN BACH

Is there anything that brings fans of heavy metal and hard rock more joy than summer concert season? All the big shows start getting announced, the festivals, the tour packages and we rejoice and then start planning out our summer accordingly. I thought the Cinderella / Sebastian Bach tour flew under the radar a bit, and understandably so. When other 80′s rock and metal acts who are on tour, such as Motley Crue and Kiss, and the Def Leppard / Poison/ Lita Ford tour, this little package maybe didn’t mean much to other people. I personally was st0ked that Bach and Cinderella would be on the road together. I’d much rather see either band than Poison, and the Motley Crue / Kiss tour was a  little pricy. So on a hot August night at a Casino ballroom not to far from my house, myself and a couple of friends went and saw Cinderella and Sebastian Bach. Of course I weaseled my way backstage to talk to Bach. Here is the audio version of that conversation.
